FRUITBODY: 0.2 - 1.5cm wide. This small but rather attractive pleurotoid species is cup or shell-shaped and has a brown-grey outer surface that is dull and tomentose when young but becoming shiny and glabrous in mature specimens. STIPE: N/A. GILLS/PORES: White becoming grey-brown with age. FLESH: Thin and whitish with a gelatinous layer. No odour or taste. SPORES: Allantoid, smooth 7 - 10 µm * 3 - 4µm. HABITAT: On dead twigs of broad-leaved trees and herbaceous shrubs. SEASON: Uncommon. August to March. EDIBILITY: Inedible. |
